چکیده

The marine bacterium Vibrio alginolyticus has a single flagellum as locomotory organ at the cell pole, which is rotated by Na+-motive force to swim in liquid. base of flagella motor composed stator and rotor, serves power engine generate torque through rotor–stator interaction coupled Na+ influx channel. MS-ring, embedded membrane part initial structure required for assembly. It comprises 34 molecules two-transmembrane protein FliF. FliG, FliM, FliN form C-ring just below MS-ring. FliG an important rotor that interacts with PomA directly contributes generation. We previously found promotes MS-ring formation E. coli. In present study, we constructed fliF–fliG fusion gene, encodes approximately 100 kDa protein, successful production this effectively formed coli cells. observed fuzzy structures around ring using either electron microscopy or high-speed atomic (HS-AFM), suggesting FliM are necessary stable structure. HS-AFM movies revealed flexible movements region.

Stability and hyperstability of orthogonally ring $*$-$n$-derivations and orthogonally ring $*$-$n$-homomorphisms on $C^*$-algebras

In this paper, we investigate the generalized Hyers-Ulam-Rassias and the Isac and Rassias-type stability of the conditional of orthogonally ring $*$-$n$-derivation and orthogonally ring $*$-$n$-homomorphism on $C^*$-algebras. As a consequence of this, we prove the hyperstability of orthogonally ring $*$-$n$-derivation and orthogonally ring $*$-$n$-homomorphism on $C^*$-algebras.

Role of the cytoplasmic C terminus of the FliF motor protein in flagellar assembly and rotation.

Twenty-six FliF monomers assemble into the MS ring, a central motor component of the bacterial flagellum that anchors the structure in the inner membrane. Approximately 100 amino acids at the C terminus of FliF are exposed to the cytoplasm and, through the interaction with the FliG switch protein, a component of the flagellar C ring, are essential for the assembly of the motor. In this study, w...

Structures of bacterial flagellar motors from two FliF-FliG gene fusion mutants.

Flagella purified from Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium contain FliG, FliM, and FliN, cytoplasmic proteins that are important in torque generation and switching, and FliF, a transmembrane structural protein. The motor portion of the flagellum (the basal body complex) has a cytoplasmic C ring and a transmembrane M ring. Incubation of purified basal bodies at pH 4.5 removed FliM and FliN b...

Effect of N-1/c-8 ring fusion and C-7 ring structure on fluoroquinolone lethality.

Quinolones rapidly kill bacteria by two mechanisms, one that requires protein synthesis and one that does not. The latter, which is measured as lethal action in the presence of the protein synthesis inhibitor chloramphenicol, is enhanced by N-1 cyclopropyl and C-8 methoxy substituents, as seen with the highly lethal compound PD161144. In some compounds, such as levofloxacin, the N-1 and C-8 sub...

A Regulatory Checkpoint during Flagellar Biogenesis in Campylobacter jejuni Initiates Signal Transduction To Activate Transcription of Flagellar Genes

UNLABELLED Many polarly flagellated bacteria require similar two-component regulatory systems (TCSs) and σ(54) to activate transcription of genes essential for flagellar motility. Herein, we discovered that in addition to the flagellar type III secretion system (T3SS), the Campylobacter jejuni flagellar MS ring and rotor are required to activate the FlgSR TCS. Mutants lacking the FliF MS ring a...
